Accreditation

Apex Learning courses offered by the EVSC Virtual Academy are accredited through the North Central Association and the courses address and meet the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) standards for instruction.

In addition, the courses have been approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as meeting the requirements for establishing the initital-eligibility certification status for high school student athletes wishing to compete in college.

In July, 2012 the EVSC Virtual Academy courses were approved for NCAA guideline for Division I and Division II schools under the following conditions.  The NCAA requires that the student consistently follows a pacing guide for course completion, maintain a portfolio of their study sheets throughout the course, and meet with the teacher for required study sessions and progress checks at least two times during the course.  The EVSC Virtual Academy will provide a printout of the course work and time line of completion to the NCAA.
Students are informed of the guidelines upon enrollment.

Information for 2016-2017 NCAA guidelines for Non-Traditional classes is available in the NCAA Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete manual on page 17 regarding the requirements of Non-Traditional classes.

Authorized by the College Board, AP* courses meet higher-education expectations of college-level courses and prepare students to demonstrate achievement through success on the AP exams. Courses target highly motivated students who are reading at grade level or above and who have a track record of success in high school coursework.
